Alake Adedotun Gbadebo Health Initiative

Alake Adedotun Gbadebo Health Initiative is the special intervention of the Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, HRM Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo CFR (Okukenu IV) for the wellbeing of Egbaland. The Initiative is facilitated and managed by Wellness Africa Foundation; and thus far, the following projects have been sponsored:

 

  1. Alake Adedotun Gbadebo Cares 2019

Project Title: Health Outreach at Ikopa Titun Community to Commemorate HRM Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo (Okukenu IV) CFR at 76
Location: Ikopa Titun
Date: 13th and 14th September, 2019
Duration: 2 days
Objectives:
a)Public health awareness and sensitization (health) talks on Hypertension, Breast Cancer, Tuberculosis, Immunization and ‘Care for the Elderly’.
b)Health fitness checks, medical consultations, treatment of minor illnesses as outpatients, administration of medications or health counselling as deemed necessary.
c)Refer cases (where necessary) to nearest Primary Health Care Centre.

2)ALAKE ADEDOTUN GBADEBO CARES 2020
Project Title: Provision of Standard Handwashing Facilities (WASH: Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) to Selected Secondary Schools in Egbaland
Location:
(I)Baptist Boys’ High School (BBHS), Oke-Saje
(II)Daniel Akintonde Model School for Special Children, Adigbe
Date: 18th November, 2020
Duration: One day
Objective: To encourage regular handwashing by students and staff to prevent the spread of many illnesses ranging from common cold to others like Hepatitis A, influenza and Covid-19.

Project Title: Roundtable Dialogue on Strengthening Egbaland’s Community Health Care System
Location: Centenary Hall, Ake, Abeokuta
Date: 18th November, 2020
Duration: One day
Objective: To engage critical stakeholders on the challenges of Egbaland’s community healthcare system with the view to proffering solutions for quality service delivery.
Support: 15th Coronation Anniversary Planning Committee
Target Groups: Egbaland
Final Beneficiaries: 150
Stakeholders: Ogun State Government, Development Organizations, Health professionals etc.
